The Highest Hope and incredible promise for Christians

At 2010 Winter Conference, R.C. Sproul shared this incredible promise Christians are given in the New Testament.

The highest hope, the most incredible promise that we are given in the New Testament is the promise that John in his earlier epistles says. ‘Beloved we don’t know yet what we’re going to be.’ You know people ask me, ‘Will we be old?’ ‘What will our age be in heaven?’ ‘What will we look like?’ Will we know everybody?’ John said, ‘We don’t know yet what we will be.’ Because this much we know, ‘We will be like Him for we shall see Him as He is.’

ISIS claims attack on Quetta Methodist Church in Pakistan - FULL REPORT

According to the local police and Bethel Memorial Methodist Church officials, Four suicide attackers stormed the Bethel Memorial Methodist Church in Quetta, the southwestern part of Pakistan. At least 15 people lost their lives and dozens injured. The Islamic State (ISIS/Daesh) claimed responsibility for the attack in an online statement, without providing any evidence for its claim (Amaq News Agency).

Two suicide bombers were between the ages of 16 and 20. The suicide jacket which was defused contained 15 kilograms of explosive material. DNA samples of the two terrorists have been obtained for their identification. These samples will be sent to the Punjab Forensic Laboratory in Lahore. "Two other attackers escaped", said a police official, Abdur Razaq Cheema.
Balochistan Inspector General Police (IGP) Moazzam Ansari confirmed to media that 400 people were present inside the church at the time of the attack and a major tragedy was avoided due to the quick response of security forces."We killed one of them, and the other one exploded himself after police wounded him," he said.

Bethel Memorial Methodist Church was on high alert as Christian places of worship are often targeted by Islamist extremists over the Christmas season.
Broken wooden benches, shards of glass and musical instruments were scattered around a Christmas tree inside the prayer hall that was splashed with blood stains.

Kal Alaxander, 52, was at the church with his wife and two children when the attack happened.
"We were in services when we heard a big bang, Then there was shooting. The prayer hall's wooden door broke and fell on us. We hid the women and children under desks."
Maryam George, 20, cried at a hospital where her younger sister Alizeh was fighting for life with two broken legs and multiple other wounds.
Aqil Anjum, who was shot in his right arm, said bullets were hitting people inside the closed hall.
Mehreen Joseph, 43, said her 17-year-old son suffered multiple wounds from gunfire and the explosion.
Jacob Masih, another worshipper, said that the attack occurred so suddenly that the congregation was thunder-struck.
"I am devastated to see many of our dear ones dead and wounded today here in front of me," said Liaqua tMasih, 35.
Sidra Shams, a member of the church, said that several children participating in the Sunday school program remained safe while firing continued around them.

Quetta church attack was an attempt to create religious split, said Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The United States also strongly condemned “the shocking and brutal attack on innocent worshippers,” U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale said in a statement.

Pakistani Christians, who number around 2 million in a nation of more than 200 million people, have been the target of a series of attacks in recent years, have long faced discrimination, sidelined into lowly paid jobs and sometimes the target of trumped-up blasphemy charges.

Pakistan should be designated a “country of particular concern” because of its violations of religious freedom, according to a group of influential US senators.

Influential Reformed Theologian and Religious Broadcaster Dr. RC Sproul dies at 78

Dr. Robert Charles Sproul (13 February 1939 - 14 December 2017), known to millions of Christians as simply “R.C.” went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2017 around 3 p.m. surrounded by his wife, Vesta, and family in his hospital room in Altamonte Springs, Fla. He was 78. He died peacefully after being hospitalized twelve days ago due to severe respiratory difficulties exacerbated by the flu and complicated by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
God called R.C. to proclaim the gospel to as many people as possible. R.C. did this knowing the Lord did not need him. In fact, he wanted people to know the enduring, faithful witness of God’s servants throughout church history. God powerfully used R.C.’s ministry in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries to awaken people around the world to the truths of classical Christianity.
R.C. now sees the object of his faith, the risen Christ, high and lifted up. He now hears the seraphim’s song before the throne, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”

O Come All Ye Faithful اے سب ایماندارو - Christmas Carol (English & Urdu)

O Come, All Ye Faithful" (originally written in Latin as Adeste Fideles) is a Christmas carol which has been attributed to various authors, including John Francis Wade (1711–1786), John Reading (1645–1692) and King John IV of Portugal (1604–1656), with the earliest manuscript of the hymn bearing his name, located in the library of the Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa.

The original four verses of the hymn were extended to a total of eight, and these have been translated into many languages. The English translation of "O Come, All Ye Faithful" by the English Catholic priest Frederick Oakeley, written in 1841, is widespread in most English speaking countries. The present harmonisation is from the English Hymnal (1906).
An original manuscript of the oldest known version, dating from 1751, is held by Stonyhurst College in Lancashire.

O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God's holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

Pakistan protests today over Trump's Jerusalem move

Religious activists, parties and lawyers associations are taking out protests across the country today against President Donald John Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the Israel's capital and showing their solidarity with the Palestinians by desecrating flags of the Israel and United States of America.

Siraj Ul-Haq calls for countrywide protest against Trump's Jerusalem decision

Islamabad: Siraj-ul-Haq (Chief Jamaat-e-Islami) has announced country-wide protest on Friday (Dec 8, 2017) against the recent decision of United States president Donald J Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

He stated that the US is playing with fire. In the eyes of the Muslims, Jerusalem was the most sacred place next to Makkah and Madina and they had deep love and respect for the ancient city. Any US step in this direction would have serious consequences.
The JIP chief appreciated announcements by Turkish President Tayyab Erdogan and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas rejecting the US decision and said that none of the Muslim rulers could support Trumps’ plan. He urged the world community and justice loving western and European states to condemn Trump’s plan giving him a clear message that such a decision could not be supported. He called upon the Muslim world, especially the Pakistan government to strongly condemn Trump’s designs at official level and take all possible measures at international level to foil such a move.
